Everyone has stories that deserve to be remembered—moments, voices, and memories that can easily be lost with time. Legacy Video Pros was created to preserve those stories, so families can revisit them for generations.
In 1993, founder Sean Taylor was a college student with a passion for documentary storytelling. He aspired to record video interviews with his paternal grandmother Ruth, who was born in 1907 and lived a fascinating life.
Sadly, his grandmother passed away before he could interview her on video, and many wonderful stories were lost forever. The Legacy Video Pros emblem was inspired by Ruth's extensive collection of elephant figurines.
By 2012, Sean had nearly two decades of film production experience, and he set off to begin documenting the lives of his family, starting with his maternal grandmother Martha, born in 1930, and his mom’s brother Don, born in 1948.
Our Story
Sean Taylor's path to Legacy Video Pros began in Hollywood's visual effects industry, where for nearly two decades he produced practical and prosthetic effects for major film and television productions, including Warner Bros.' Man of Steel, 20th Century Fox's Night at the Museum II, New Line's A Nightmare on Elm Street, and the series Six Feet Under, Stargate SG-1, and Charmed. In 2014, he joined Universal Music Group — the world's largest music company, home to artists including Taylor Swift, The Rolling Stones, and The Beatles — where he spent a decade producing video and multimedia content for teams across the company.
Today, Sean brings that same level of craft to every family he works with — applying professional-grade production values, from lighting to sound to editing, to the kind of stories that matter most: the people we love.
One project, in particular, changed everything.
Sean recorded an interview with his uncle Don—capturing stories, humor, and memories from his life. Not long after, Don passed away.
That video became something priceless for his family. They watched it together, shared it at his service, and were able to experience his voice and personality again—long after he was gone.
That moment made it clear: these videos aren’t just recordings—they’re lasting connections.
That experience is what inspired Legacy Video Pros—to help other families preserve what matters most before it’s too late.
