In 1993, Legacy Video Pros founder Sean Taylor was a struggling college student obsessed with documentary films. He aspired to record video interviews with his paternal grandmother Ruth, who was born in 1907 and lived a fascinating life.

Sadly, his grandmother passed away before he could interview her on video, and many wonderful stories were lost forever. The Legacy Video Pros emblem was inspired by Ruth's extensive collection of elephant figurines.

By 2012, Sean had nearly two decades of film production experience, and he set off to begin documenting the lives of his family, starting with his maternal grandmother Martha, born in 1930, and his mom’s brother Don, born in 1948.

Our Story

Professionally, Sean started his career in 1994 production managing and graphic designing for film & television special effects companies. Over 20 years, he worked on projects like MGM's "Stargate SG1,” HBO's "Six Feet Under," Zack Snyder's "Man of Steel," FOX's "Night at the Museum II," and hundreds more.

In 2014, he transitioned to designing and editing creative short-form videos and motion graphics for the world’s largest music company (Universal Music Group). UMG represents artists like Taylor Swift, Sting, The Rolling Stones, Billie Eilish and The Beatles. During his time there, Sean earned a degree in film production.

Sean now leads Legacy Video Pros, where he and his team of professionals produce documentary-style videos that incorporate high quality interviews with one or more family members, personal photos, historic archival images, video, music and more. Sean holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cinema and Motion Picture Production from the Department of Cinema and Television Arts at California State University Northridge.

Testimonials

Past clients share their experiences with Legacy Video Pros

Don’s health failed not long after his recording session, and he sadly passed away on New Year’s Day in 2023.

The video Sean and Don created together a decade earlier was a blessing for Don’s wife and children, who cherished watching Don joking, laughing, and sharing stories from his life. They even used clips from the video at Don’s funeral and celebration of life. Everyone in the family was grateful to remember him as he once was.

Sean was inspired to use his experience and skills to offer other families the joy that he saw in Don's family as they watched the video. As a result, he founded Legacy Video Pros, a full-service production company specializing in preserving family stories and the memories of those we love the most.
